Orientation Programme April 2010 Intake

The day we had waited for so long had come at last. Yes, our next step into college life is here. From the 21st of April until 29th of April, Berjaya University College of Hospitality (UCH) are having the orientation programme for the April intake students.

The orientation were officially begin on 21st of April, started with students registration, and welcome speech by the Chief Operation Officer, Ms. Mae Ho as well as introduction the Berjaya UCH staff. Ice breaking games are held and all the students were divided into groups with the name of countries - Algeria, Cameroon, Denmark, Uruguay, Ghana, Honduras, Japan, Nigeria, Paraguay and South Africa. The programme which fear the students the most is the EPT and GEPT test. The test indeed is hard and many students were shouting at the lobby about what they did.

On the second day, there were Immersion Methodology and Essential Support Services programme where the lecturers explain about the teaching method in the Berjaya UCH and the facilities in the campus respectively. The programme where students anticipating the most is here, the Amazing Race by DoSS (Department of Students Services) and Student Council. Everyone run like crazy to their destination to complete task given by the seniors. Next, uniform measurement for students who excepted from the EPT Speaking test were held while those who need to go for the test wait patiently in the Lecture Theatre.

23rd of April 2010, the day where April intake students are here to register themselves into their favorite club. Many students join the Diga Duga Dong club as well as Glee club too. In the afternoon, there were lectures which is Berjaya UCH Facebook Group and Berjaya UCH Blog Group. Students are encouraged to join both groups and submit their artwork or articles as well as photos and videos as much as they can. However, the programme evening tea with the Vice Chancellor has been postponed to the last day of orientation.

The orientation week continue on Monday, 26th April with Immersion Workshop. At noon, there were Grooming Workshop by A Cut Above. A hairstylist (Our senior, Richmond's mum) and a make-up artist came to guide us what suitable hairstyle for everyone and how to put make-up even on guys. The next two days, 27th and 28th of April are mainly about lectures. Discover Academic Information, PTPTN Briefing, Briefing for International Students, Dining Etiquette, Journey to Excellence and Students Lifestyle is the programme for this two days.

It's been a week. The orientation had come to the end. Yes, everyone is excited but the real in them is sad because it's been a week spending time together and when started to get close, the orientation week has end. So on 29th April 2010 - The unforgettable day - begin with the English test result. The lecturer announce those who excepted from the test followed with the Elementary, Intermediate and lastly Advance categories. Next we get our time table as well as some briefing about it. After our lunch, the last exciting yet memorable programme is here, the drama competition. Each of the group try their best to present their drama and we had a lot of laughter. The third place goes to Uruguay while second place goes to Paraguay.. Well, the one who deserves to be in champion is SOUTH AFRICA !!! (It is my team anyway ^^) We did twice our drama - Titanic 2010 - one for the competition and one for the Vice Chancellor.

Throughout the orientation week, we actually learned a lot. The distance between the seniors and the juniors had become closer as well as the lecturers. Everyone had a blast and I believe, among all the orientations in other colleges and universities, Berjaya UCH is the most success and memorable one. Once again, thank you so much to the DoSS and Student Council for the unforgettable week. The memories we had are beautiful and we will never let it go.

My life..

I live in a deep dark hole that I've fallen into since I was born. I just can feel hate, anger, sorrow and darkness this 18 years. Someone have come to save me and get me out of this hole once, no twice, or maybe more. Unfortunately I not only rejected her help, but accidentally fall deeper into the hole.

Mr.S, you came to me like an angel when I was 14 years old. You gave me light, joy and happiness for four years. How I wish you could be with me forever. Somehow I thought you are the one, you are the hero who will pull me up from the hole and face the world. But why you have to push me deeper into the hole and leave a deep yet painful scar on me before you leave..?

I tried to get up and climb out but I failed. I tried to find light to guide me but all I can see is only a dim light. I waited for you to come once again to at least tell me the reason you leave but you never came. I wanted to get out from this darkness badly, but why do I still here..? I regretted, regretted to trust you.

How I wish I could go out as soon as possible. But all I can do now is walk, until I'm out of energy while searching for the light and someone else to help me erase all the sad memories between me and you.

OMG !!! I can't believe SUPER SHOW 2 IS JUST 3 DAYS MORE !!! *screaming non-stop*
This is the first time i feel so excited about a concert and i even registered to help the E.L.F's on the concert day ^^ But only short listed candidates will be contacted, hahaha...

I went to Times Square last minute today to buy SJ merchandise. I suddenly feel like if i go tomorrow i won't able to buy it. Thank God i manage to bought the LAST one of big SJ blue light !!! I even bought a small one and a tag and a GIANT poster of Super Show 2 !!! It the limited edition giant poster given to those who buy the concert ticket on the first and second day. I guess i really lucky today ^^

Super Junior’s Choi Siwon, who is currently showing off his acting chops on SBS Oh! My Lady, has set the fangirls in a frenzy with newly released baby and graduation photos! These pictures were made public by none other than Super Junior’s Leeteuk, who posted these on his minihompy.

Practical training @ TS

2day is my 1st practical training at Berjaya UCH with Sabrina.. Its was tiring day but very fun ^^
Sabby and me arrive at 9.15am and we started to polish wine glasses.. Just put the glass near hot water and when the whole glass is covered with the hot water steam, wipe it with a cloth and it will turn out to be very sparkling !!

Next we set up the tables at the cafe.. Salt and pepper with a comment card in the middle, den a tissue with a fork on the left and knife on the right.. After done, Sab and me rest awhile while waiting the cafe to open.. We kinda memorize the menu and table number.. Haha, its like back to school life XD The chef aka students even prepared us brunch before the cafe opens.. We ate together in the kitchen as a family.. I didn't expect them to be so generous and warm ^^ Love u all, seniors..

The cafe open at 11.30am and the 1st customer to came in was a group of Berjaya UCH students.. We serve them the glasses then with either warm or cold water.. As time goes, more and more people came in and we were like busy like hell.. There was a room where special guest eat in there.. Sab and me were exhausted serving them as they had like 10++ pax..

After finish and the cafe is closed, there were quite a lot foods, dessert and pastry left.. Karan, our senior gave Sab and me each a dessert and we choosed the Tiramisu ^^ We had a BIG food party and everyone eat like crazy.. Haha ! Then me, Sab, Angela and Michelle went to 9th and 11th floor to sell the rest of the desserts and pastry..

Overall, it was a really fun day.. Although is is tiring, but I learnt a lot of new things.. Thanks to all the seniors and lecturer ^^ I will go again next next Friday cox coming Friday is Sammi Cheng concert XD

Finally...

Well, our results are out.. Finally it has come to the end of our high school life.. Everything had over and we will starting our college life soon.. Hmm, feels like a looooong dream.. I suddenly feels that it it still kinda early to leave high school life and enter the world.. Yeah, a lot of things i've learnt during this 17 years of my life, but it seems there is still something missing.. I don't know what it is.. I just feel like going back high school and start all over again.. However, life goes on..

Umm.. My result was actually ok.. I know i can't compare with those genius so i just accept what i got.. My school is top in Wilayah, we even got RTM crew came.. Lol !! (I miss out the news 8pm just now cox i heard my friend said really got our school came out in tv1 !!) Our batch is the best since 2007, hehe.. 50 people got straight A's and 5 of them got straight A+ !!! Wow, congratulations to them ^^ (although i kinda jealous :p)

Err.. Bout my result.. I got 4A's, 2B's and 3C's, hahahahhaa... I can't believe my add math got C because at section B where we suppose answer 4 questions, i actually answered only 1 question.. Lol.. So when i saw my add math grade i was like... *fainted* and at the same time relieved XD
I manage get A for my English and Math and A- for Malay and Moral.. My History got B+ and i was fainted again.. Hahaha.. But unfortunately, i still lost to "him" where he got 3A's and the rest B's during his time.. As i got C's, so i guess i just lost to him.. Haiz..

Well, guess that's all for now.. Gotta have a REAL GOOD NIGHT SLEEP after a few sleepless night after this and tomorrow gotta go for training at Berjaya University College again with Sabrina ^^ Oyasuminasai... Zzz..
